In 2006 Jimmy started Beat Assassins with Joe Lenzie from Sigma. Beat Assassins became a fundamental part of the breakbeat scene winning various music awards and DJing at major music events around the world that included Australia, USA, Russia and European countries such as Spain and Germany. Beat Assassins released their tracks through their music own label Mofo Recordings, most of which went straight into the top 10 in the breakbeat charts in DJ Magazine & download site Beatport.
In 2010 Jimmy and Joe amicably went their own separate ways.
In 2016 Jimmy went back to his roots and started producing drum n bass under the Beat Assassins moniker.
Since then Beat Assassins have had over 30 releases on various drum & bass labels such as Viper Recordings, Jungle Cakes, Yana Music, Dope Ammo, Gorilla Warefare, Wonky Goose and Jimmy’s own label Mofo Recordings.
A number of high profile drum & bass acts have remixed Beat Assassins. These include; Mob Tactics, Dope Ammo, TREI, Toronto Is Broken, DJ RAP, Kursiva, Giganti & Phibes. The Home Grown remix by Phibes became a Global Beatport number 1. Something that has only been achieved by a handful of drum & bass producers.
Beat Assassins also remixed UK festival superstars, the Dub Pistols. A massive track called Addict which was the title track of their LP later to be released on Jungle Cakes.
Beat Assassins signature sound is vocal-driven breakbeat and drum & bass resulting in some collaborations with high profile artist such as, Ragga Twins, Rider Shafique, Miss Stylie, Scarlett Quinn & Sifu Chan to name a few.
Beat Assassins productions have enabled the act to perform at major clubs and festivals around the world from Russia to Australia and most European countries especially Spain alongside major cities around the UK.
Beat Assassins currently play retro breakbeat sets with a small selection of Beat Assassins drum and bass tracks.
